I have a SQL Server 2008 Express installation on my WHS 2011 box, used to run a Digital Asset Manager for photos.
I finally got the Server backup set up and it failed. Trying run it manually also failed. Apparently the Volume Shadow Copy Service write called SQLWriter fails.
I now recall having the same problem on WHS v1. I had to STOP the SQL Server while doing a server backup, then restart it.
(I'm now doing a successful backup after stopping SQL Server...)
Since WHS 2011 Server Backup runs daily, I'd like to see if there is a way around this.
Anyone running SQL Server AND using the Server Backup? Anything you had to do to get it working, or any ideas on what I might have misconfigured?
