W7 Will Not Connect To Server To Download Connector Software

Just did a clean install of W7 (which was accessing the server perfectly a couple of days ago) It runs the connector CD and appears to locate the server and then says downloading software 0% .. it sits for a couple of seconds and then says "the operationa cannot be completed at this time" ... its done this for a couple of days now?

The domain name is configured and the server is showing that remote access is working. I can get to it via the web from my XP machines.

Any ideas?

I can't get it to connect remotely via the web on my W7 machines ie HTTPS://XXX.homeserver.com but it will connect to the basic server page of HTTP://XXXX.homeserver.com But then if you click on the access files it can't do it

I really am stumped ... all my XP machines are working and one my W7 machines, even though that won't access remotely via the web either, it will access the folders on the server that I previously mapped (at a time when it would acces via the web)

I have no hair left ...
