Usb Or Other Ethernet Adapter?

I have the same problem as some others on this forum - I have a new motherboard that does not have Windows Vista drivers, thus I cannot do a restore.

I could take the hard drive out and put it in another machine, it's a pain but that's the last resort.

But alternately, could I get a USB ethernet adapter with Vista drivers and use that? Would that work?
