Has anyone seen a sudden behavior change in their LightsOut-controlled servers?
It's too bad this forum web server won't allow me to upload files any more, a screenshot would make explaining the following so much easier...
LightsOut has been working fairly well for my WSE2012R2 server - it properly suspended the server when monitored clients are asleep until 8/3, when it's behavior changed. Suddenly the server is waking up every few minutes, idling for a few minutes, then going back to sleep over and over instead of sleeping soundly like it should. I see hundreds if not thousands of cycles in the uptime chart over the last few days and I can't get it to stop. There's currently only one monitored client, and it remains asleep, so I think this issue is originating on the server. I'm going to unplug the server for the night to eliminate external sources tonight.
The recorded event is "Resume [Intel® Xeon® processorE3-1200 v3/4th Gen Core Processor PCI Express Controller - 0C05]".
I haven't changed a single thing on the server in the last few weeks. I tried disabling LightsOut for 24 hours thinking it might be a storage re-balancing task that needed to run or something, but the server is still cycling like crazy. I don't see any recent windows updates or any new scheduled tasks that might be causing the issue.
Can anyone help? Tinus?
Thanks in advance for any help.
UPDATE: I've confirmed that the sleep/wake cycling continues even when the network is disconnected.
