Life After Whs/mss

Hope this is the appropriate area of this forum to ask this.

For the past 4 years, I've been using the HP MediaSmart EX485 WHS. It has been great as a file server for my home network - being able to access files from any computer and keep all files stored centrally as well as backup each system. Also, I use this to store about 6TB of photos/video files.

Now, I'm looking to replace this based on the ongoing support for these products.

I'm seeking feedback from others, what have you transitioned to? If you are into photo/video - what solutions do you use? I'd like at least 12-16TB of storage and have some kind of RAID - then, backup this system to another ... then, I will take the 4x2TB drives from my WHS to use as offsite backup storage.

I considered G-Technology but the best option I see is the G Speed Q which is 12TB, I'd like the option of 16 or at least expandable as needed going forward.

Any suggestions? Can you offer any resources to look into this further? I've loved my WHS but it's time to move forward!
