OK, I'm about to cry on this one.
I'm trying to consolidate some HDD's and move things around so I can RAID some drives in another build.
So I took two drives that had data (mkv's and lots of photos/other files) and used terracopy to move them locally on the WHS server. I had them mounted via usb/jbod (sans digital) and gave them drive letters (did not add them to the pool). I copied straight from the HDD to the "Share" location (ie \\Videos\Movies\xyz ) and not to the d:\de\shares location. SO I thought I would be good?
After a reboot (a backup had failed) I look at my storage space and it's very empty (copied about a terrabyte of data). terracopy did a checksum and confirmed the write before it deleted from the original drive. But I'm not seeing the files anymore!?! WTH happened? It's like WHS removed all those copies after reboot.
I'm not having any luck finding a free utility to undelete the files from the original drives plus there are a LOT of files I don't want back, just ones deleted/moved today? Due to the complexity of WHS drive pool and such, I'm not sure if I can undelete from there either? Currently I shutdown WHS and have the original drives pulled until I know what to do which is...what? I'm looking at close to 1tb of data. My movies I can deal with but the photos...
