This is a new one on me.
I recently did a fresh install of whs2011 on to a new 250GB ssd. After all was fully updated, I connected about 4 clients to the server. After clients were connected, I started a manual backup of one of the clients, this was about 8 PM my time. It finished just a few minutes after midnight, the backup time is set from midnight to 6am. By morning, it had backed up all other clients successfully.
I then downloaded and installed Lights out. I have registered lights out previously, but have since moved that license to my whs2011 (original) server at my shop. So after installing lights out on my freshly one day old server, I bought a second license as I am quite happy with the original.
After configuring LO and having it installed on all clients, I made a note of what times the clients were to be backed up. I happen to be up to midnight at which time the server awoke as well as the first client and the backup started. The next morning I checked in on it, but found that all other clients (other than the one that was going at bedtime) had not attempted a backup. Investigating, from each client, they all told me the server was not available at backup scheduled time. Logged in to the dash board, checked lights out activity chart only to find out the server suspended shortly after the first client successfully backed up.
What am I missing here?
I set a calendar event take awaken server at 9 am to 2 pm, the calendar event functioned as it should.
IIRC, I've set all offloads to off, enabled jumbo frame, and it is only set to magic pack, not pattern match. (this is how I have all clients as well).
I verified in the LO settings that it is to be awake during the backup hours, and the hours are the same as that which are set by the server.
