I have a WHS 2011 server on my network and would like to be able to use it to remote into one or more of my network computers associated with the network. I can get into the https://xxxxxx.homeserver.com web page and browse the web server files but whenever I try to start a remote desktop connection to one of the attached computers, I get the message:
"Your computer can't connect to the remote computer because the Remote Desktop Gateway server is temporarily unavailable. Try reconnecting later or contact your network administrator for assistance."
Remote-ing in from within my network from machine to machine works fine. The Remote Desktop Gateway service is running on the WHS2011 server.
Note that my internet provider won't allow me to secure connect using port 443 directly so I connect in using https://xxxxx.homeserver.com:4433/remote . The router forwards port 4433 to the WHS machine as port 443. I've tried reading up on the literature, but frankly it's mostly over my head. Can someone explain easily what I need to do to fix the problem?
