I built my WHS V1 server because I like the drive extender feature and thought I was getting storage redundancy. Now that I had a drive die (2TB Green WD) and since I was unable to "safely" remove it from the storage manager, it seems that data is lost. WTH? What's the point of having 6 - 2TB drive, only being able to access 6TB of storage, but lose 2TB when a drive dies? All the other posts I've read says that WHS is supposed to "rebuild" a new drive with the lost data when I add it. Well I added a new 2TB drive 36 hours ago and that 2TB of data is still missing. I can check random video/music/picture/software folders and see that some of them are now empty or missing big chunks of data. What gives? I know I have WHS set for redundancy, otherwise I wouldn't only have access to half the available space.
