I have a Macbook Pro using OS X Lion, and I have other solutions for backing it up. So I don't want to back it up on WHS 2011 (knowing it'll be difficult if not impossible to set up) but I do want to use its SMB shares.
From a PC client, if I use Dashboard and try to "Remove the computer" from the "Computer and Backups" page, it tells me that the computer won't be able access the shared folders on the server any more.
So how do you disable the backup routing for a Mac without losing the shares? The way it looks now, it's going to try backing up the Mac as part of the client backup routine.
Thanks!
***Actually: if I don't need the backup, I can just set up a user on WHS for the Mac to access the shares, and uninstall the Launchpad, right? I believe I just had a "duh" moment...
