Hi,
Following on from my original question yesterday.
Does WHS2011 support quad, six or eight cores?
Would there really be a noticeable difference?
For example on Amazon we have the following.
AMD 4300FX 3.6GHz Quad Core
4Gb DDR3 1600Mhz
Asus M5A78L-M
£165
AMD 6300FX 3.5GHz Six Core
8Gb DDR3 1600Mhz
Asus M5A78L-M
£199.99
AMD 8350FX 4.0GHz Eight Core
8Gb DDR3 1600Mhz
Asus M5A78L-M
£261.99
This is to replace my existing setup which seems to be failing, so rather than buy just a motherboard as that's what I think is causing the problem, then I can buy a complete bundle.
Originally it was,
Asrock K10N78
AMD Phenom II X4 Black Edition 965 3.4Ghz Quad Core
4 Gb DDR2
I really only use the server as a way to store things, photo's, music, movies, drivers, software etc.
What are your thoughts?
Cheers
