Best Drives For My Setup

Firstly i wasn't sure what part to put this in as i have not decided on whether i am going to use Server 2012 or simply just Win 8.1 for my new server OS yet

I am building a new server from scratch and i am trying to decide which HDD to buy i am a fan of Western Digital Drives i find them to work well and be reliable at least that is my experience

my current server has WD greens varying from 1tb to 3TB and although they have worked well for my purposes i am wondering if they are the best fit to purchase the Green Drives again

I am doing this as a 24/7 server and my current server is being given to a family member so i am starting from scratch as i said i will be running either Server 2012 or Win 8.1 Pro for the OS but with the introduction of the red drives plus the other options of the Blue Drives and of course black drives it is hard to choose

I am ruling out the Blacks for now as here in australia they are just too expensive and overkill for media storage so really it is between the Reds and Greens do you think it is a good idea to buy more greens at least the 3tb ones for my general storage which is media like music, movies, tv shows that i stream to my HTPC's

I am not using a RAID setup as i prefer to keep the drives seperate (JBOD) and keep offline backups i am not intereted at all in a RAID setup i like know i can at anytime remove a drive and put into any other computer an access if needed

anyways what my question boils down to is if i am not using a RAID setup but will be having a 24/7 server running in the corner of the room idle most of the time but still running is it worth paying extra for the Red's or should i just save some cash and get the WD Greens again
