Hi Tinus,
I finally got around tin finalizing the setup on my Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials home server. Getting the storage pool setup correctly turned out to be a big pain and took a long time, but the result was worth it.
By the way, for those who are interested, you can buy the server software thru Amazon for non-commercial purposes pretty cheaply here:

I had a WHS v1 box running with LightsOut for a decade without many problems, so I think I understand the basic issues on how to configure things.
After getting through the usual issues getting a new box to go into S3 sleep and WOL, I installed LightsOut 1.5.5.2136 and upgraded my license (of course).
I'm sorry to ask, I'm sure you've been asked this 1000s of times; I did search (half-heartedly) the forums here, but didn't see my issue discussed. My server goes to sleep when all clients are off or asleep, but then it wakes up every five minutes or so. The server's bar in the uptime chart looks like a barcode. (See attached) I assumed my WOL issues were history since my old WHS box properly slept thru the night.
I haven't dug too deeply, LO has only been installed for a few days, but taking a look at the LightsOut log, I see repeated:
2014-05-10 19:34:11:506 [ 9] DEBUG .
2014-05-10 19:34:21:522 [ 9] DEBUG .
2014-05-10 19:34:31:541 [ 9] DEBUG network counter change: Check every 00:05:00 triggered
2014-05-10 19:34:31:541 [ 9] DEBUG .
2014-05-10 19:34:41:552 [ 9] DEBUG .
entries in the log. Could this have something to do with it?
Do you think this is a suspend or WOL issue? Before installing LO, S3 sleep seemed to work fine, so I'm assuming it's a WOL issue (?)
The server is basically an ASUS Z87-PLUS, using an Intel Gigabit CT NIC (not purposefully made incompatible with the server OS by intel). Currently I'm running the Intel OEM driver with WakeOnLink=Disabled, WakeOnMagicPacket=ENABLED, and WakeOnPatternMatch=ENABLED as specified in the LO setup instructions.
If you could point me in the right direction, I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks for writing (and supporting!!) such an elegant piece of software!
