What I currently have:
120GB SSD system
10 data drives either 2 or 3 TB
ASUS P5N-D
Pentium E5200
5GB DDR2
Promise SATA300 TX4
Almost all of my drives are capable of gen 3 SATA, but none are due to the hardware. Some are actually running at gen 1 and I can't figure that out at all. Would it be worth upgrading to a newer board? If I do, what are the recommendations to get to >= 10 SATA ports?
My system runs plenty fine, I just feel that I could be getting more out of my drives. I have (2) x16 and a x1 slot open. Would buying a couple of the 2720SGLs be a better option then a new system?
