Lately I've noticed an alert from time to time saying my backup service isn't running on my server. When this happens, the server is just constantly asleep and doesn't wake up to backup the clients.
Last night it was rather unusual. Everything was functioning fine on the network at bedtime and come midnight, the server woke and backed up 3 clients, and it appears was in the process of backing up another when the service stopped (I say this because a 4th client had an incomplete backup. Looking at the lights out up time chart, the server woke at midnight, and went to sleep around 2 AM. One of the clients in my bedroom awoke about this time, I had to go downstairs and noticed the server was sleep, and that particular client hadn't even had an attempt at a backup last night.
Anything I need to look at as to why this may be happening? The server is set to be awake from midnight until 6 AM (odd thing is last night it was asleep from ~2am, then woke back up around 4 and back to sleep around 6am. There was no backup activity during the 4-6 time slot, all backups that completed had happened during the midnight to 2am time slot.
At first I suspected an issue with lights out, but I don't see lights out being able to shut down the backup service, so I don't believe that to be the issue.
