Hello everyone! This is my first post, but I've been lurking on this site for a while. Great site btw!
I just finished building a WHS 2011 machine and did all the configurations with the help of the awesome guide on this site. This is my first experience with any server..ever.
My question now is..
How do I "correctly" go about transferring all the files from 4 PCs and 22 ext. USB hard drives and flash drives (I not kidding) to the server?
So far I have mapped all the server drives to all the PCs. Do I just drag and drop, copy, move, etc. at each client PC or do I do it from the server?
As for the all the external hard drives and flash drives, do I connect them to the server and start transferring or should I do it on a client machine? Would it be faster doing it directly on the server instead of going through the network? Is that risky since I have no idea what reside on some of these drive?
I just don't want to spend all week moving all the files, only to find I did it wrong. Thanks in advance!
