I have a Canon MP530 printer / scanner hooked up to WHS2011 box. when I first installed WHS all i did was plug in the printer and let WHS auto install the drivers. then all I had to due on my Win 7 machine was got to "computer -> network -> server" and the printer along with the server folder would appear. then all I had to due was click the printer and it would install on the windows 7 machine.
Well, I wanted to use the scanner, and the easy way for me was to remote desktop into the server and install the software and driver. After I got that to work and I finished scanning what I needed to, I logged out.
Now I can't print from my Win7 machines.
I tried re-installing the printer on the win7 machine and the printer doesn't show up any more.
I tried uninstalling the printer from the WHS machine (disconnected printer, uninstalled software and driver) and reconnected the printer. It installed ok, I still can;t access it from the win7 machine.
on the server, I tried to right click the print and share printer, but their was no option.
What can I do to get my printer to work?
is their a way to use the scanner over the network?
