Server: WSE2012 R2, all updates. DrivePool current version. OS on 120GB SSD. 10TB Pool with about 9.5TB free
Client: Win 8.1, all updates, C: is a 120GB SSD for OS and some programs (~30GB free), D: is a 3TB Drive for storage and most programs (~2.5TB free). Connector is installed and client is on domain.
Backup starts but never finishes, mostly sits at 1%, on occasion has made it after many hours to 2%. Error always reads something like:
"Insufficient storage available for backup. Backup cannot save a snapshot of the volumes on this computer because the computer does not have enough storage space available..."
To me, this seems to indicate that the client is running out of space. My guess is the SSD, either the reserved partition created during Win install or the visible C partition. Seems like a really lousy process to require space on the drives being backed up.
Ive read various fixes to this, many pointing to resizing the recovery/reserved partition to give it more space. Others mention things like taking ownership of the reserved partition, some mention deleting/messing with shadow copies using vssadmin commands.
I tried the vss commands with no change. Today i am going to re install both WSE and Win 8.1 using UEFI setup. If that doesnt resolve it im not sure what to do, maybe ill try running the backup from the client side.
