Hi All,
Apoligies if this is in the wrong forum.
I am setting up a small CCTV system at home and would like to have it run through my WHS 2011 custom build (i5 based chip).
Here's the plan:
-House wired currently for 2 standard (i.e. non-IP) camera with RG6(?) siamese cable. Would like to utilize these.
-Connect these cables to a hybrid capture card in the WHS (to allow for future expansion via IP cameras)
-Will use Blue Iris software to monitor and capture camera feeds, record events to dedicated HDD (non-shared) in WHS
From what I have read, all of the above things are possible. What I am not sure is possible is the following:
-I would like to output the cameras via over the whole-house coax. This should be possible via a RF modulator. I could do this simply by sending each camera feed to a separate channel. What I would like more is to output the WHS screen somehow via coax (maybe HDMI or DVI out and then through a converter?) to allow it to show the Blue Iris screen with multiple feeds on the screen. Has anyone had success with a similar approach?
-Anyone have recommendations on a hybrid capture card that would allow me to plug in at least 2 cameras via coax and capture others via IP in the future?
Thanks all.
