Adding New Drive To Ex495 Pool

Hi,

I currently have a highly modified EX495 (C: partition increased to 120GB, running MS Office 2010, iTunes, Plex, etc.) with four 1.5 TB pooled drives mounted internally and everything runs fine. I'm now attempting to increase pool storage with a Probox four bay enclosure using the eSATA interface and four more 1.5 TB SATA drives. The 'Add a Drive' wizard sees the drives and will allow me to add them to server storage but not to the pool. Every time I try, after several minutes of looking like it's going to work, I receive a 'Hard Drive Initialization Failed.' 'The Wizard Was Unable to Create a Volume on the Hard Drive.'

I understand that recovering the OS would probably fix this but I've been having trouble with the Recovery process and besides, I'd like to avoid the hours of work necessary to recreate what I have.

Long story short, is there a way to manually replicate the actions of the Add a Drive to the Pool Wizard or perhaps some alternative to getting this done when the Wizard refuses to add a drive to the pool?

Thanks a lot for any ideas.
