So I've been having an issue lately where when lights-out sets the server to sleep, everything is fine. But when it wakes back up at the assigned time, the server hangs during the reboot. This only started happening shortly after I started screwing around with media streaming servers.
I have an HP MediaSmart Server ex485;
1x Seagate 750GB drive for the system drive;
2x 3TB WD Red data drives;
1x 2TB WD Green data drive;
1x 2TB WD Green server backup drive;
and 1x 1TB WD Green server backup drive.
Recent software installed prior to boot hangs:
-Java
-Apple Bonjour
-AirVideo and AirVideo HD (now un-installed)
VideoLAN codecs (now un-installed)
Other software I use is Lights-Out for setting server to hibernate, and StableBit DrivePool and Scanner.
I was having issues with the media streaming server causing my data drive to be mandatory for the server backup, thus leading to me un-installing and re-installing different software and creating the wake hang. I'm not 100% certain whether the wake hang came from the software install/removal/install, or if it came right after the first install.
Obviously, since the computer hangs, it doesn't create any sort of error that I can find in the events viewer. I've scoured Google searches for the past 3 days but can't seem to find anything related to my issues. If I can't find a solution here, I'm probably going to reinstall the server from scratch again, but that's an extremely tedious task that requires hours of data transfers and reinstallation that seems a bit excessive.
