guys - having upgraded my N36L a couple of weeks ago now by adding larger hard drives and a USB3 card (thanks to @autodrivel from this forum ) - I'm now looking to add a SSD into the optical bay and use that as my boot drive.
Right now I have the 250GB drive which came with the N36L as my boot drive and I also have 2 x 2TB and a 3TB drive in bays 2, 3 and 4 respectively. I have added the latter 3 into a drivepool. After adding the SSD into the optical drive bay I would like to make the 250GB drive in bay 1 just as a temporary storage drive outwith the pool, where my downloads originally go before they;re moved into the pool etc.
I have a couple of questions regarding this:
1. I updated to the latest Official HP bios - do I have to change anything in the bios, or change to a modified bios in order for me to add a 5th drive? my sata controller mode is currently in IDE but that's my fault - I am aware of a thread which shows how I can change to AHCI so that's definitely next on my to-do list.
2. Is it just a case of me taking an image of my boot drive with Acronis and deploying it on the SSD? Even easier, can I add the SSD as a usb external drive whilst booted up and just copy the contents of C: onto the SSD?
3. Will me adding an SSD as the boot drive have an affect in Stablebit Drivepool at all?
Any help much appreciated
