Error Ipc: Unable To Contact Whs Disk Management Service

Hello Forum,

after months of working seamlessly WHS disk management fails to start now. When clicking on the disk management tab in WHS console first nothing happens and then critical message box pops up saying


The proposed remedy does not change anything, WHS disk management won't start any longer. I also tried uninstall - reboot - reinstall - reboot, but again nothing changed.

Amusingly the service console shows disk management service running.


The "TentacleSoftware.DiskMgt.Service.111101.0358506767.2432.log" merely says "Created at 01.11.2011 03:58:50" - nothing else.

When checking the applications event log, I receive the following (tried to translate the log from german to english):

I am in doubt whether a .NET-update caused the whole trouble, but I did not find any message on the web concerning the issue. Can anybody figure what is going on and make a proposal?
