I have a WHS2011 server at home and at work. Both are same server name, both are same workgroup. The ONLY computers connected to the work's server are the two clients at the shop.
I had upgraded my server at home with the UEFI hotfix because I had acquired a couple of Windows 8 UEFI laptops. I noticed after the home server installed the hotfix, it updated the connector software on all the home client PC's/laptops.
When I would take a laptop to work, the server at work would issue the connector from it, meaning it would 'downgrade' the connector to the one that is used prior to the hotfix. I corrected this by installing the hotfix at work, even though I didn't need it there.
Today I noticed that my home laptop woke the server at work when I started up the laptop. Keep in mind, this home laptop isn't connected to the work server. I checked my system tray, and the lightsout icon was showing the server as awake. I selected for it to suspend the server, and sure enough, the server suspended.
What do I need to change so that the laptop that I take to work, doesn't interact with the server at work, and the way lights out controls the server?
Like I said, both home and work servers are the same name, both belong to the same workgroup, but the home and work servers have different IP's.
