Server 2012 R2 Essentials Dashboard Crash On Win7 Client

I just setup a new Server 2012 R2 Essentials server using some older hardware and got it up and running ok.  I have 3 computers connected and did initial backups.  Now my main desktop (Win7 x64 ultimate) is unable to open the Dashboard application.  I get an appcrash and I let it report to Microsoft.  Tried a cold reboot of the client, same thing.  When I connected this computer, I used the registry entry to prevent joining the domain, everything was fine for about 2 days and now I can't get into the Dashboard.  From the event logs I got the following entries:

Application: DashboardClient.exe
Framework Version: v4.0.30319
Description: The process was terminated due to an unhandled exception.
Exception Info: System.Reflection.TargetInvocationException

and also

Faulting application name: DashboardClient.exe, version: 6.3.9600.16384, time stamp: 0x5215cf3c
Faulting module name: KERNELBASE.dll, version: 6.1.7601.18229, time stamp: 0x51fb1677
Exception code: 0xe0434352
Fault offset: 0x000000000000940d
Faulting process id: 0x1d30
Faulting application start time: 0x01cf03e2a6b35f55
Faulting application path: C:\Windows\System32\Essentials\DashboardClient.exe
Faulting module path: C:\Windows\system32\KERNELBASE.dll

It is not a major issue since the server is located in the same room as this machine, but without the Dashboard, I won't have access to restoring files from server backups to this machine.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance...
