Hi - around 2007 I did get an HP Windows Home Server up and running and for a time it was useful and helped me avoid some data loss. However, since MS seemed to move away from supporting this software (or did it?) I have kind of plodded along not knowing what to do. The Home Server is in a closet and will likely not be used again, and I am presently using a Synology device which I don't seem to understand very well.
I'm confused as to what a non-technical person like myself is advised to do in order to maintain dead-certain at home backups and some other more elective features, particularly if the cloud seems a bit less secure than is desired.
I did take a little to re-acquaint myself with the discussions here, but it's a bit confusing as there doesn't seem to be just one place to go to buy a consumer-oriented get it done without a lot of know-how device similar to my WHS that I got from HP around 2007. Is there such a thing at this point?
