Hi,
I had the system up and running for over a year but now cannot access the server either remotely on local lan or directly. Therefore, after trying all the options am going to have to reinstall. No problem with that but am unsure of what will happen to the data already on the system. I have a raid 5 set up over 4 drives connected via a raid card. This is where the data lies and it is large. My shared folders except server and client backup are already on the raid system. The system is on an SSD. Can anyone tell me if the data on the raid drives will be safe when I reinstall whs 2011 or will the drives be wiped? When I install WHS 2011 I load the drivers for the raid card and the ethernet at the start when I am given the option.
Also, because my router cannot do loopback, allowing me to remote access the system locally, I understand that on the devices with the connector software on, I can add a line to the hosts file to do the loopback but I would have to do this on each device. Am I correct in this?
Any help would be most appreciated.
Regards,
David
