After 3 years on my drives that I use with the built in system backup has developed a few bad sectors according to stablebit scanner.
ST310003 33AS USB Device - 7.00 KB unreadable (14 sectors)
I have tried various ways of running the chkdsk but they all seem to require a drive letter and of course when you make a drive a system backup drive there is no letter.
My question is what type of "hardship" am I going to make for myself if I assign a letter while the sever is running and then start the surface scan to re-map the bad sectors and then go back to no letter?
Has anyone else done this before?
Thanks...
