Hi,
I'd come here to post about my folder sharing troubles, and in doing so the issues i was having on the machine which has lost access to my shared folders and was giving an error when trying to connect through dashboard seems to be a problem for all client PCs and even the server itself.
On the WHS2011 server, when i launch Dashboard i get a pop-up with the title 'Safe Mode Settings (Suspects found)'
List of suspect add-ins
Server Folders | View and manage folders on your server | Enabled.
Now ive tried it enabled, and disabled, and each time it runs through thinking about it, disappears and thats it. Nothing happens.
I'll quickly point out i still have shared folder access on my desktop PC as expected, but the Surface Pro 2 which has been playing up only has access to 1 folder (possibly its open to all).
On the client PCs, i get the same pop-up, however after having a long think it comes up with the following error:
An unexpected error prevented the Windows Home Server 2011 Dashboard from opening. Do you want to sign in again?
Ha. What actually seems to be happening is that its claiming ALL official add-ins are causing the fault, so when its finished going through each item being disabled, eventually it loads with a shell of what is Dashboard. Correction - The only Add-in that can be enabled is 'Home', the rest must be disabled for it to load.
If it wasnt for the fact that S2013 Essentials R2 refuses to fully install on my N40L i'd be heading there already, instead it just locks up whenever the NIC is enabled, and it cant finish the install without it.
Does anyone know what i can possibly do to fix this?
There seems to be 2 threads on google which talk about this error, one being on here but the user did nothing other than post, no update, reply or solution, (http://forum.wegotserved.com/index.php/topic/25158-dashboardexe-application-error/) the other being on Microsoft.com (http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/191ffecd-5218-4ae5-8b97-731fc684b849/whs-2011-dashboard-problems?forum=whs2011). The only 2 suggestions seem to be to clear the registry of all mention of WHS2011 and dashboard !?!? and a clock issue, but all 3 devices are within 5sec of the servers clock, which must surely be sufficient.
