Hi,
Has anyone found any resolution to the problem of installing Hyper-V Server 2012 R2 on the HP MicroServer N40L?
The issue is down to the driver for the onboard NIC and causes the install to fail at the "Getting Devices Ready" stage - hangs at 84%.
This has been reported here:
Also Mcheiron reported a similar install issue with Win8.1 on an N40L over on the Windows 8 forum
The only currently reported reliable work around is to disable the on-board NIC and use a plugin card.
I'd rather avoid that if I can - the on-board NIC is perfectly serviceable provided it has good drivers
ATM, I have 3 N40Ls acting as a testlab all running Hyper-V Server 2012 - I have no driving need to update to R2, other than keeping the OS up to date.
That being said, once a resolution to the driver issue has been found I will happily switch to R2 and check out the new features.
