I still have preview running, partly because I don't know exactly how to remove it and reinstall the released version. (How to detached client PCs and rejoin new server)
The active directory does not seem to be much advantage to me in a home environment. It has added at least 2 minutes to my desktop boot time, which went from about 30 seconds to what seems to be forever.
I now have a new laptop and am worried as I travel with it that if it is joined to the domain it will spend too much time during the boot looking for the server.
I miss the old home server days when the PCs were on their own, but were backed up on the server.
Maybe I should back out the entire install and going with a whole other option or trying the no active server registry edit.
Any advice appreciated.
