I'm sure this has been asked before....can't find it in the topics though. I am upgrading to a slightly newer mother board/processor to a 3 GHz core duo, 2 Gigs RAM. I'd rather not lose all my backed up data, even though I do back up to an external drive.
I have actually re installed the operating system and the key validated. But now I'm thinking....can I simply move the old OS drive to the 'new' motherboard and install the MB drivers to get things working. Then install my back-plane with data drives and be up and running again.
OR install the back-plane with the new OS install and simply restore data from the USB drive.
