I've been preaching the wonders of the Stablebit combo over at a local forum (geekzone.co.nz) and have a user now looking at replacing his mirrored raid after began to fail. But now an anomaly of sorts has arisen.
This all started because of an apparent dud disk (A WD Green).
After scanning the disk with the WD diagnostics utility it said the disk was fine.
DrivePool listed the disk as damaged as soon as it was added to the pool.
Scanner has now done a full surface scan, and claims the disk has 62 unreadable sectors.
SMART data has no errors.
So where is the issue? I'm trusting Scanner at this point, so is the WD utility lying to make friends, or is there just a small issue with the disk that can be corrected?
