Can Whs 2011 Monitor Whs V1?

I have a WHs V1 and WHS2011 on the same network. The V1 holds data, WHS2011 backs up my computers.
The only problem is that with no computer having the V1 connector installed, I do not get any messages from the V1 server. If a drive is going bad, I will not know until I log on.
Is it possible to install the WHS2011 connector on the V1 server? Or is there a better way to monitor the health of the hard drives on the V1 server?
