I'm sure there is a way to do this, but I can't seem to wrap my head around it.
I have:
WHS2011 running great with remote acess via homeserver.com
A D-link DCS-932l that we use as a baby monitor
In our home network, I can connect to the DCS-932L easily using a program called TinyCam on Android. Very easy to set up and use, but only works inside our network. For remote access when we are out (and someone else is watching the baby of course!), we use the DLink app. It generally works fine. Not sure exactly how it works, though I do have port 82 forwarded to the 932L's IP address, so I know it does something with that.
So what's the problem? Well, my Samsung Galaxy S is pretty much dead and I need a new phone. I've never been happy with Android and I despise Apple (I have an iPhone for work and I hate it). I played around with a Nokia Lumina 521 and really liked Windows Phone 8 (What can I say, I'm one of the three people on the planet that really likes Win8 too!). And given that it regularly goes on sale for $80, it can't be beat. So I'm getting one the next time I see it on sale. I don't use much in the way of apps outside of standard stuff, and just everything I use has an equivalent in the Windows store.
Everything except DLink. There is no DLink app. There are plenty of IP Camera apps (found several similar to TinyCam), but for me to use them outside our network, I have to know how to get to my camera.
Since I can access the WHS2011 via homeserver.com, that seems like the logical choice, but I have no idea how to make it work. Any thoughts? Thanks!
