Hello everyone,
I just recently got a new HP Proliant with WHS 2011 installed on it. When I'm at home, I'm able to terminal into it remotely with Remote Desktop or with the green Launchpad login/password. I have a Dell XPS laptop that I use to interact with the server.
My problem is this. I'm currently able to get to the login page for my home server (xxx.homeserver.com) from a location away from my home. However, after entering in my correct credentials, nothing ever happens and the circling "in progress" icon in the IE tab just keeps spinning. It never comes back with an error. As a side note, I entered in the wrong login and password which caused an expected WHS login error to appear. So, it looks like verification of the login and password are working as they should.
When I test the xxx.homeserver.com link when I'm at home. I believe I'm seeing this error "The device or resource (homeserver.com) is not set up to accept connections on port "https"." I've read however that there can be some kind of loopback issues with trying to go to https://xxx.homeserver.com when you are at home though.
I've done some research and my router does seem to have the appropriate ports opened which is the same as this - http://portforward.c...ome_Server.htm.
I'll be the first to admit that I'm an not an expert when it comes to this. A coworker of mine helped with the server setup and configuring my wireless router. Does anyone have any suggestions for what might fix this? Let me know if I need to give you more information.
Thanks.
