Hi all,
I'm looking for some advice regarding the best option for my needs.
I'm running an HP MicroServer with WHS 2011 and need a reasonably secure solution which will enable myself and another user to access a large number of files remotely which are currently sorted in a directory tree structure that ideally needs to be retained or replaced with similar. I'd also like to be have the ability to restrict access to certain files/folders/settings for remote users.
I currently have an unused domain name which in theory could be utilised. I've been away from the IT industry for 5 years and I've probably forgotten a good deal of what I knew! I had a quick go with the built in FTP via IIS but couldn't get it to play ball.
Before commiting hours chasing gremlins, I wondered if anyone had any suggestions as to the best way forward and if FTP is still the way to go. I've seen references to FileZilla, might this be a better way for me to go?
Any help would be gratefully received.
Best regards,
Michael.
