Need Help Using Task Scheduler

Hi Guys,

New to the forum and new to the world of servers and WHS 2011! Enjoying it so far but I've hit a bit of a problem. I'll try and explain in as much detail as possible, so please bear with me.

I've setup a little media server (HP N54L) which has utorrent and media center manager (MCM) set to run on startup, via Task Scheduler (run as Administrator). The idea is I can add torrents remotely via the webgui, the torrent completes and uTorrent moves the completed download to a new folder, MCM detects the download, stops the torrent (for purposes of testing, this is as soon as it detects the folder i.e. share ratio of 0), moves the folder and scrapes for data.

When I boot up my server (i.e. without logging in remotely) uTorrent starts fine and I can access my torrents remotely via the web gui or mobile phone app.  Media center manager on the other hand does not seem so happy. Ideally this should scan my completed download folder and parse the new files, scraping metadata and eventually moving them to a predetermined media folder (which is part of a shared drivepool; my incomplete torrent folder is NOT part of the drivepool as I've read this can cause conflicts). However, while uTorrent finishes the download, MCM does not seem to do its job of stopping the download and subsequently moving the movie and so on. It DOES work if I'm logged in remotely as administrator and watching both programs, but it won't do it when I'm not.

When I do login remotely as admin and go to Task Manager, both programs are clearly running in the background although I can't access them. If I try opening uTorrent via the programs menu, I start another instance of the .exe, and likewise for MCM. Is this normal behaviour for Task Scheduler-mediated programs? If it is, is there a way to open the instances of the program already running?

Does anyone have any advice on what is causing this problem? I don't really know where to begin with a problem like this. Even any advice on how to troubleshoot this would be appreciated.

Many thanks in advance,

MikeInBelize
