I have 6 client PCs that access content on my WHS 2011. 4 are running Windows 8 and 2 are running OPENELEC.
1 of my 6 PCs is very slow accessing my server. However, the client PC can sometimes access the server but then it would hang (spinning circle and unresponsive) when trying to select a shared folder from my server.
I can ping the other 5 clients <1ms ping times and I can ping the server <1ms ping times. All of my clients and server can ping it @ <1ms.
It is a gigabit network, all NIC drivers are current and the in questioned client is a quadcore i7 processor with 4gigs of RAM, with an SD HDD running 64bit Windows 8.
The built in troubleshooting tool cannot find anything wrong. I tried rebooting my modem, giga-switch, offending client machine, and WHS server but I still cannot continuously open the shared folders from my server. I have also tried switching cables, different ports on my switch but to no avail.
Before I open up the machine and switching out the NIC I was wondering if there is a setting that I should check that I am missing. Any help or things to try would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
