Hey guys, I have a question for you. I have a home built whs 2011 setup with 8tb of space, I am running stablebit drive pool and have the home server smart 2012 addin installed (Cant seem to update it). I noticed one of my drive has 3 pending bad sectors, and was doing appropriate maintainence. I noticed in settings under the smart 2012 addin that it is polling smart data ever 2 minutes?!? I could be wrong, but is that not way to frequent? Doesnt accessing the disk like that cause premature wear? I am hoping it hasnt done damage to my drives, it has been running in that config since building my server over a year ago now. I changed it to every 30 minutes in the mean time.
Any information on what is an appropriate value and if it is damaging would be awesome.
On the note of updating the addin, I have downloaded and installed the latest version of home server smart 2013, but it still shows the old version of 2012. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling to no avail. How do you update this damn addin lol?
