I have to manually set the port forwards in my router to access the windows home server. Previously I would disable UPnP but I recently installed a new router (WNDRMAC-100NAS) due to lightening taking out my WAN port on my previous router (WNDR3700v2).
Both routers have the USB port for a USB drive and allow http access to the drive by way of port 80. I disabled USB drive access thinking that since the port 80 is forward to the server, it couldn't be forwarded to the USB drive as well. I now use the USB drive port, but not by remote access via http, just across the network (which I didn't realize previously that I could do)
Last night I logged in to my mybooklive by web and shortly after was browsing my router only to realize that I have accessed the NAS web from port 80 (UPnP was enabled and when I looked, it showed the IP for the NAS and port 80 which had been accessed), yet my home server web works both from in house and away. I realize that out of network uses port 443, but in house network uses port 80 or http,
Was I incorrect in thinking that port 80 can't be assigned to more than one device?
