Hi
I have got myself in a little bit of a pickle.
A data drive was failing so I removed it (through the console) and replaced it with a drive which happened to be the original system and data drive when I first brought the server. This drive was cloned to the new system drive, which is now in one of those 3.5in raid enclosures.
The replacement drive had all the old c: and d: data still on it, I didnt think this was a problem as I thought the server would format the drive as normal when I come to add it as a pool drive.
But what happened is the d: drive on the old system disk took over from the existing d:. So I turned off the server and removed the added drive, rebooted and assigned d: back to the second partion on the system drive.
Everything seemed to be fine, I thought all I would now need to do is ensure that I format the old drive on another machine before adding it to the server again.
But this is not the case, the whs console won't start ( homeserverconsoletab.squeezecenter.dll, HomeServerConsoletab.DiskMgt,dll problems and the backup service is not running. After clicking skip the console crashed) and none of my shares are visible through windows networking although they do physically exist. The system restore points have all vanished.
Any idea of a fix please?
