- I had successfully had six plus months of backups of my client PC's using my WHS2011 Server, and prior to that, using a WHSv1 server.
- Around mid June 2013, all my client PC's showed up as offline. Pinging server by name from client works and when I uninstall WHS2011 connector and reinstall, Connector indicates a PC exists, but connector will reinstall. I have tried choosing a different Client Name so that a new backup set would be created but each time I do this, the dashboard shows the prior name and lists the PC as offline. When I try and launch dashboard from the Client, it works but client still shows as offline.
- Many posts on Microsoft and other forums show that other users have had this issue but I cannot find any solutions. I do not understand why Microsoft is so obtuse.
- Problems may have started when I tried to initiate Remote access to my server and clients using a Web Domain that I purchased. Still have not got that to work because I have two segments on my network but the server and clients are on the same segment and backups worked previously.
- I have much data on my server that I do not have backed up other than on the server (Have a separate question regarding optimum backup of all data on server [i.e. stablebit drivepool, or raid or some other options] but am concerned that any reinstallation of server software will lose that data. I keep most important data on server so the lack of backups is an issue but not currently the end of the world but I do need it resolved soon.
- Even Macintosh PC shows up as offline.
Thanks
