Whs 2011 Suspend Problem (2Nd Attempt!)

Apologies for for initially posting this in wrong forum - I'm new to this!

More in hope than expectation, after struggling with this problem for many months, I am putting this forward in the faint hope that someone else may have experienced and overcome insomnia problems like I have with my server. I'm sure it is hardware or drivers causing it, and definitely not Lights Out (using latest version 1.5.4.2090 after many others) but this LO community is the most likely to have experienced this, and perhaps solved it.

I have a Tranquil BBS2 server with Intel D510MO, 4GB RAM, Silicon Image Si3124 SATA PCIe card, total of 5 HDDs, onboard Realtek gigabyte NIC, WHS 2011 fully up to date. Lights Out manages Hibernation brilliantly but start-up is a bit slow for my Squeezebox needs and I'd prefer S3 sleep (I've got UPS so no worries about everything in RAM). However, when I select Suspend it simply will not stay asleep - S3 wakes within seconds, hybrid sleep, as you'd expect, takes slightly longer but not much. Same result using various other "sleep inducing" programs.

I've tried at least 3 different x64 Vista/Win7 Intel Graphic Media Accelerator 3150 drivers, been through the NIC setting countless times, I've trawled through the BIOS and tweaked everything I thought could be involved, changed power management setting for all devices in Device Manager, disconnected ethernet, read through every Lights Out tip on the subject etc etc - but the system ALWAYS bounces straight out of suspend, connected to, or isolated from, the network. Switch to Hibernate and there's not a problem.

powercfg /a says there should be no problems with either S3 or hybrid sleep and only the NIC is awake armed

This is driving me nuts - suspend works so well and fast, it would be great if it would just STAY suspended until that Magic Packet arrives. And, damn it, it's not often I have to admit defeat by this sort of thing!!

So a last plea - anyone else had this problem and did they find a magic bullet?

Here's hoping

Chip
