Hello all. I am having some issues with my Acer H340 and I think the system drive is failing. I want to replace it with a solid state drive. Has anyone done this before? I found an SSD Sata Hard Drive converter (http://www.focalgadgets.com/2-5-to-3-5-ssd-sata-hard-drive-hdd-converter-usb-2-0-esata-enclosure.html) and figured that this would fit in the bay without a problem, I hope. I want to get the smallest drive possible because I don't really want any data to be stored on the drive only the system data. My 1st question is does anyone know how much room is required for all of the system data including WHS obviously?
My 2nd question which I know has been talked about on numerous forums including this one is how to go about replacing the system drive. I am getting very confused reading everything that I have because there doesn't seem to be 1 right answer. I am not very technical, but I am trying my best to educate myself to be able to do this. I am not concerned with data loss because I have everything backed up. I pretty much want it to look like when it came out of the box. In the manual I am assuming that I should be doing the Restore to factory Settings steps, but are these the same steps if I am replacing the system drive not just using the existing system drive? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Anthony
