Hello,
I hope this forum is the right one for my following problem:
I have set up a WHS 2011 server. As clients there are a WIN7-PC, a WinXP Laptop and two Android Smartphones.
The server owns several partitions which are truecrypted (TC). The server automatically ("Lights out") goes to sleep when PC and Laptop are no longer active. The servers wakes up with them again.
Via task scheduler on WHS I have managed to mount 2 TC partitions when the servers starts or wakes up. During testing I have hardcoded the TC-passwords directly in the batch files which are called by the task scheduler to mount the TC partitions. Of course, this is not a viable solution for real life.
What I want is that upon mounting, the WHS sends a passwort input request to the computer that triggered the wake-up event. In the next step the user on the client enters the password which is then passed on to the batch to mount the TC partition.
My questions:
- is it possible to send such password input request via the network and use the input and pass it as argument to the batch file called by the task scheduler ?
- If so, can I send such input request only to the computer that triggered the wake-up event ?
Any help is highly appreciated.
Thanks
Marc
