Unable To Run Server Backup

I have a Tranquil T2-WHS-A3i which has been running faultlessly since I got it back in 2008.

A weeks ago I could not get on to it and noted that the box was constantly rebooting so I plugged a keyboard, mouse and monitor into it to see what was going on.  The server was booting up to the windows start screen then rebooting and continued to loop round doing this.  So for the first time I use the Tranquil Recovery key, rebooted and let it do its stuff.  It was a while since I run the Imager key so I was expecting to go through some pain.

All was well, the server is running again after running a few updates and adding a user and a share that it did not pick up.  I also forgot that I had changed the domain which took a while to sort.

I still have two problems though that I have been unable to solve and hope someone on here can help.

Problem 1

I am getting a few File conflict errors.  I can see a few errors and the number appears to be growing slowly.  When I look at the Server Storage report on the connector the drives are showing as healthy.  Is a drive about to fail or is there something I should run to correct the conflicts?

Problem 2

The PC back-up is working fine but the server back-up refuses to run.  If I select the back-up now option for the server the connector software freezes and after a couple of minutes shuts down.  I does the same if I try to view the backups.  I use a USB hard drive to store the server backups and that appears to be working OK.  I have also run the backup database repair which has made no difference.

Are these two problems connected in some way or am I looking for separate solutions.  Will I need to do a full rebuild and if so will it run from a USB DVD drive?

I'm generally OK with PC stuff and Windows but not so much on WHS so please take it easy.
