Hello: ,,,and help! The Computers & Backup tab on my HP EX475 MediaSmart Server
(Software Version: 1.3.8.25155 -- BIOS Version: R02 -- WHS With Power Pack 3)
is showing that there have been no backups in the last 42 days on the three computers currently in the home network.
When I click on View Backups I see that backups were attempted every day (scheduled in the middle of the night) and they all failed. Clicking on Details
for any individual daily backup attempt shows the same error report:
Failure Details for Volume (Local Disk)
An error occurred reading or writing from server storage.
D:\folders\{00008086-058D-4C89-AB57-A7F909A47AB4}
\GlobalCluster.4096.dat
ReadFile

If I try to initiate a Manual Backup, one appears to start, runs to about 9 or 10% and then stops/crashes ...and that same error report is received.
I've tried shutting down and re-starting the HP WHS unit any number of times, but that has made no difference. I am able to copy files back and forth from the "Shares" without any trouble.
Note: I am not a WHS geek by any stretch. I set this all up YEARS ago and spend very little time thinking about it. I like that all my and my wife's stuff is backed up every night and that I have a large place to archive photos and music. PLEASE be very basic, step-by-step, when suggesting solutions, etc. I read through the FAQ's and saw threads concerning backup failures re one or two computers, but not ALL computer on the network.
