Hi all,
I've recently gotten interested in setting up a remoteFX installation - I'm considering doing that because I have more CPU computing power and more potential GPU computing power (via 1-2 6970s that aren't currently installed in a machine) than my MBP has - and I don't really want to set up a bootcamp Windows installation, or have to deal with the extra heat of a laptop under high-utilization conditions, just to play a few games at home.
I'm been looking at
...and it looks like one of RemoteFX's requirements is that it be installed on a server OS that has the Hyper-V role installed - something which WSE2012 does NOT have as an option.
I have a license for Windows Server 2012 Standard - and could do an in-place upgrade. That would get me the features of Server Essentials, together with the Hyper-V role, but it would also require me to do something with CALs - which I don't know much about, and don't really want to get involved with if I don't have to.
Has anyone else on this forum gotten remoteFX successfully installed into their home server environment? Any recommendations for me?
