I've installed Server 2012 Essentials after been using Server 2003/WHS v1 for some time.
I've tried and ditched storage spaces, as performance was poor and couldn't use different sizes hard disk effectively.
I'm now trialling Drive Bender, although some problems with freezing currently, they are releasing an update in the next couple of days.
Ok so to my question...
I cannot create NFS shares on my pooled drives from Drive Bender. I can creat ethem on the C drive which is a single drive. I've read posts about NFS not compatible on Refs file system, but I'm using all NFS. I've also read that you can't create NFS shares on virtual disks for some stupid reason, and I'm wondering if this is my problem.
Has anyone else managed NFS shares on Server 2012 and virtual disks?
Is there an alternative thats free? I've heard of HaneWIN, and freeNFS, not tried to see if they work.
